Thanks for your effort in writing this book. I’ve lived my whole life thinking writing was a solo pursuit that was supposed to be painful. So, I believed, why would anyone choose an occupation that (previously) promised just more of that pain? This book flips the script. The proverbial Book is supposed to be about reverie and joy, or at least we have the choice to make it so. But so many books have been so harsh on us as readers (and therefore writers), and given us all sorts of wrong impressions. I work in a rigorous scientific profession (and, by coincidence, actually work closely with deers!) and this instructional book is giving me hope that, after I write my first novel (following the terroir project writing challenge), even if I’m not published, I will be a better worker in my chosen field. Because through the process of writing I’ll know so much more about the terroir that makes all of the beautiful animals that I work with so sick (I work with very sick deer, actually). The best advice I have gleaned from Wonderbook and elsewhere is to make sure you keep balance (in your life AND your story – with generosity and collaboration as your guiding stars and counterbalances). And also, to remember the reason you/we/I started out (or, as in my case, to rethink your prior reasoning and how it relates to your life/story after reading Wonderbook).

Wonderment can be an intense experience, but Jeff and Ann and the whole gang have made it colourful, gentle and fun. So, thank you again guys.
